The Wine
Smooth is a sophisticated Chardonnay from the Loire Valley, France. Far from the buttery, oaked New World Chardonnays that divide opinion, this wine has soft citrus and floral scents, with hints of honey and fresh minerals. Our Smooth canned Chardonnay has enough complexity to hold its own against a bold seafood dish such as cod. It'll also melt in your mouth when paired with creamy goats cheese.
The Winemaker
Nicholas is an independent winemaker based in the Loire Valley, who usually makes the largely unknown Pineau d'Aunis variety for local restaurants and winemaker hangouts. However, to take advantage of the limestone-rich soils of the area, he also produces a small parcel of Chardonnay every year.
